Systems and Platform Engineer

You will work in our R&D team and use your understanding and experience in all layers of the software stack - from OS to application - to research, architect, prototype, implement, integrate, test, debug and deliver the platform for our full stack product.

Together with our video security department, you will also get the opportunity to shape our unified security solution.

You’re not expected to have all of the following skills, but they will be useful in performing your job.

We are looking for someone with: 

• Experience in networking.
• Competence in containerisation technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of virtualisation technologies, for example VMware, VirtualBox, AWS, Azure.
• Experience of software development in any language.
• Familiarity with mentoring and technical leadership.
• Outstanding technical ability.
• Proficiency in English.

At Ava Security we default to programming using Go, but also use a wide variety of different languages and frameworks.  It's not expected that you would be familiar with Go (or any of the other languages we use) but you should be enthusiastic and willing to learn new things.

Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:

• Software development in Go, C, Java or Python.
• Kernel and device driver development for Linux, Mac and/or Windows.
• Database technologies including SQL and No-SQL.
• Observability technologies, logging and metrics.
• Security principles including PKI, certificates and cryptography.
