Graduate Software Engineer in Test Automation

Location    Oslo (Fornebu), Norway

Ava is a global technology company with offices in the UK, Norway, and the USA. We exist because we believe that we can create a better, smarter way to deliver security.

We inject intelligence into our approach to security and all our solutions. We help organizations see, understand, and act on their surroundings to protect their people, business, and reputation in real-time.

We know that the best way to meet our goals is with a diverse team, where everyone’s voice is heard. We’re proud that our company comprises 24 nationalities and we’re always looking to increase the variety of ideas and points of view at Ava.

We founded Ava Cyber in 2016 and Ava Video in 2018 and the two companies merged in 2020 to become a unified security provider with extensive capital investment from Ubon Partners.

About this position

At Ava, we take quality seriously. We need software engineers with a focus on testing in order to deliver a reliable and predictable solution that scales to our customers’ needs.

You will join R&D in either Uxbridge (West London) or Oslo (Norway), working in our video test team to maintain and improve the high quality of Ava Aware. You will work alongside a small but very fast-growing team, including some highly experienced industry professionals. Your job will consist of developing and using tools to test our software. The video test team is responsible for making sure that Ava Aware products are functional, bug-free, and intuitive to use.

You will work alongside the rest of the development team to:

  • Develop and maintain high-performance test systems, test tools, infrastructure, APIs, labs, and test suites.
  • Ensure we are able to deliver high-quality software in a rapid manner by working closely with the software release cycle.
  • Become a solution expert, where your focus will be on the products and solutions, rather than a single module.

Together with our cyber security department, you will also get the opportunity to shape our unified security solution.

Have you got the technical skills to test our products in terms of feature functionality, scalability, reliability, and usability? • Can demonstrate outstanding technical ability or has achieved excellent academic results from a recognized university.
  • Is proficient in English.

It is also considered a bonus if you are:

  • Comfortable with multiple programming languages, e.g. JS, Python, Ruby, Go, C, Java.
  • Experienced in developing test tools and API-based scripting.

It's not expected that you would be familiar with any of the languages or frameworks we use, but you should be enthusiastic and willing to learn new things.

Does this sound like you? We'd love you to apply, even if you don't meet 100% of the requirements and qualifications.
